A managed IT provider built the right way from day one

HexaMSP is a managed IT service provider based in Clearwater, Florida, working with small and mid-size businesses across the Tampa Bay area. We are new — deliberately so — and this page explains what we are building and why.

Our story

Why HexaMSP Was Started

Ask a business owner about their IT provider and you tend to hear the same story twice. It started well. Response times were quick, the people knew the environment, and problems got solved. Then something changed. Tickets started taking days. The invoice grew line items nobody could explain. Recommendations began to look more like sales targets than advice. Eventually the IT company became one more thing to manage rather than the thing that made everything else easier.

That pattern is common enough to feel inevitable. It is not. It is what happens when a provider grows past the point where anybody is genuinely accountable for any individual client, and when the commercial model quietly starts rewarding selling more rather than solving more.

HexaMSP was started to do it the other way around: to give customers the best experience we know how to give, and to do right by them every time — including the times when doing right costs us the sale.

In practice that is less about ambition and more about a handful of specific decisions. Publish the prices instead of discovering what each client will tolerate. Include the protections that actually matter — backup, endpoint security, patching — in the base plan rather than holding them back as upgrades. Recommend what the environment needs, and say so plainly when the honest answer is that it needs nothing. Keep the client list small enough that the person answering your ticket already knows your setup.

None of that is complicated. It is just easier to say than to hold to once a business gets busy. Building HexaMSP now, from nothing, means these commitments are the foundation rather than a policy retrofitted later — and that is precisely the point of starting fresh.

Modern tooling, chosen for how businesses run now — not inherited from a decade ago.

What that means in practice

The commitments we hold ourselves to

Principles are cheap. These are the specific, checkable versions.

We recommend what we would do ourselves

The test for any recommendation is whether we would still make it if the money went the other way. Sometimes that means telling you the hardware you were about to replace has three good years left in it.

Our pricing is published, not negotiated

The rates on the pricing page are the rates. You are not being quoted based on what a discovery call suggests you might tolerate, and you are not paying more than the client down the road for the same service.

The things that protect you are never upsells

Microsoft 365 backup, endpoint protection, and patch management are in the base plan. Charging extra to unlock the controls that stop a bad afternoon from becoming a closed business is not a model we are willing to run.

Your documentation and access belong to you

Credentials, network documentation, and asset inventory are yours. If you ever decide to leave, you leave with all of it, handed over properly. Holding a client hostage through undocumented systems is not a retention strategy.

We say so when something is outside what we do

There are specialisms we do not claim. When you need one, we will tell you plainly and point you toward someone who does it properly, rather than learning on your budget.

Mission & values

What we are trying to be

To be the IT partner our clients recommend without being asked — by doing the unglamorous work well, saying what we actually think, and being straightforward about what things cost.

Do right by the customer

Every recommendation gets held against a simple question: would we still make it if the incentive pointed the other way? When the answer is no, we do not make it.

Prevent rather than react

Anyone can rebuild a failed server at 2am. The actual job is making sure it does not fail — quieter work, far less visible, and the entire reason to have a managed provider at all.

Say it plainly

You should understand what we did, why it mattered, and what it cost, without needing a translator. An explanation that needs jargon to sound impressive is usually a bad explanation.

Where we are

Based in Clearwater, working across Tampa Bay

Most of what we do is delivered remotely, and that is usually the fastest way to resolve something. But being local matters on the days it cannot be: a failed switch, a new office fit-out, a server that needs hands on it.

We work with businesses throughout Pinellas and Hillsborough counties and the surrounding Tampa Bay area. If you are not sure whether you are in range, ask — the answer is usually yes.
